alstrio is a hardware innovation lab helping organisations move from early opportunities to prototypes, pilot systems and validated product directions.
Over two years, I worked closely with hardware engineers, mechatronics engineers, product designers and founders across client projects and the evolution of the company itself. My role sat between technical development, product thinking, business strategy and communication.
From brief to build
I helped explore what a product could become before physical prototyping began.
Using sketches, moodboards, form studies, CMF directions, lighting concepts, interaction ideas and AI-assisted visualisation, I translated technical requirements into multiple product directions for internal discussion.
Together with the engineering team, we reviewed feasibility, materials, electronics, user interaction and context before deciding what was worth building and testing.
AI for faster product exploration
I developed workflows combining sketches, CAD references, engineering inputs and generative AI to rapidly compare form, colour, materials, lighting, interfaces and product environments.
AI was used as an early-stage visual thinking tool helping make possibilities visible, accelerate discussion and reduce unnecessary exploration before prototyping.
From prototype to evidence
Once concepts moved into prototyping and validation, I helped turn research, test results, photographs, observations and spreadsheets into clear client-facing stories. The goal was always to make complex technical work clear, credible and decision-ready.
Making the alstrio method visible
I worked with the founders to translate alstrio’s innovation and validation approach into visual systems for:
pitches · workshops · presentations · website · shareable documents · thought leadership
This included process diagrams, validation frameworks, research synthesis and workshop communication.
Building the brand around the work
As alstrio grew, I supported the evolution of its visual identity and external communication. My work covered brand guidelines, typography, colour systems, presentations, photography, LinkedIn content, founder thought leadership, innovation news, website copy, event communication and behind-the-scenes storytelling.
The challenge was to make a technical B2B innovation brand feel credible, contemporary and human.
Growing with the team
I joined alstrio while it was still a small engineering team and saw it develop into a broader multidisciplinary company with more clients, a changing workspace and larger ambitions. Despite working remotely, the collaboration was close, transparent and highly structured.
It gave me a deeper understanding of what happens when engineering, design, business and communication evolve together rather than in separate silos.
My role, simply put
I helped make ideas visible before they were built, understandable while they were tested, and compelling when they needed to be communicated.
